Are you ready to dive into a post-apocalyptic future where survival is paid for in blood and every second counts? I’m thrilled to announce the release of my new novel, “My War,” which is now published and available to read online.
A devastated world, a relentless struggle
My War takes us to a bleak setting ruled by constant rain, mud, and the shadows of a world that no longer exists. Follow Sofia, a sixteen-year-old girl caught in the crossfire between deformed creatures, people infected by the mysterious “black agent,” and the deadly Assault and Combat Patrols (PAC). Amid ruins, conspiracies, and suicide missions, the line between hope and despair grows thinner and thinner.
To give you a taste of the dark, visceral atmosphere of this story, I want to share the opening lines of the book with you:
Sample from Chapter One
The full moon, imposing and majestic, wrapped itself in a translucent shroud of blood-red clouds. It was the sickly dream of a night. Lightning and thunderbolts danced without rest, and in every flash a forgotten world appeared: desolate, post-apocalyptic.
A girl of about sixteen, with curly blond hair, ran through the rubble of the buildings. Mud covered her; her face was barely visible. She slipped on the mire, but she did not fall. The wind struck her face and carried cold drops of rain. She glanced back for an instant, searching for something in the depths of the night, and kept running. Fear showed in her gaze; her blue eyes stood out like those of a cat that has learned to see in the dark. She tried to keep her balance. She stumbled again.
An intersection appeared ahead of her, a few streets away, and she headed toward it.
“I’m tired. So tired.”
Her movements grew slow. She wanted to run faster, but her legs moved at their own pace. She reached the intersection and ran into a wall that the darkness had hidden from her: rubble, iron, and mud, rising twenty meters into the sky. The thunder rang out so close it seemed to be born inside her gut.
The rain fell more violently. She began to climb. The edges of the rusty iron tore at her hands and feet. Blood flowed and mixed with the water. She seemed to feel no pain; she kept climbing painfully, trembling, and looked back. At last she reached the top.
“Damn it!”
She fainted. She fell down the other side of the wall, fast, tumbling, spinning, and landed in a giant puddle of mud, where she sank completely...
Do you accept the challenge of survival?
This is only the beginning of Sofia’s journey. I invite you to join her on this thrilling trek full of action, mystery, and danger around every corner.
